Law & License

    Sales Associate

A licensee who performs real estate services under the supervision of a broker and cannot operate independently.

A sales associate is a person licensed to perform real estate services, such as listing, selling, and leasing, but only under the supervision of and registered with a single employing broker. A sales associate may not operate independently or hold escrow funds in the associate's own name.

Becoming a sales associate requires a 63-hour pre-license course and passing the state exam. All of the associate's compensation must flow through the employing broker.
