Law & License

    Broker Associate

A person who holds a broker license but chooses to work under the supervision of another broker.

A broker associate has met all the requirements for a broker license but works under the supervision of another broker rather than operating independently. The broker associate has broker-level qualifications but takes on the working role of an associate.

This lets a licensee earn and keep the broker license while deciding whether to open an independent brokerage later.

    On the exam

A broker associate holds a broker license but works under another broker by choice.

    Exam trap

A broker associate is not a sales associate. The qualification is broker-level; only the working arrangement is supervised.
