    Continuing Education (CE)

The 14 hours of approved coursework a Florida licensee must complete for each two-year renewal after the first.

Continuing education is the coursework required to keep a Florida real estate license active after the first renewal. Each two-year renewal period requires 14 hours, which include 3 hours of Florida core law and 3 hours of ethics and business practices, plus specialty hours.

Continuing education is different from post-license education. Post-license education, 45 hours for a sales associate, is a one-time requirement before the first renewal.

    On the exam

After the first renewal, 14 hours of continuing education per two-year period, including 3 core law and 3 ethics.

    Exam trap

Do not confuse 14-hour continuing education with the one-time 45-hour post-license requirement for the first renewal.
